Are in daily contact with their children.

Wait until they are emotionally ready to father children.

Establish paternity of their children.

Fulfill their financial obligations on a timely and consistent basis.

Provide proper health insurance for their children.

Serve as role models to their children always.

Take care of their own health.

Can separate problems in other relationships from relationships with their children.

Set reasonable limits of discipline.

Are men of high character, demonstrate basic dignity, and self respect.

Can put their children's interest before their own.

Play an active role in the emotional and academic development of their children.

Lead by example.
